Safety & Compliance

Failure to follow these instructions may void the warranty and compromise user safety. Read all warnings before first use.

⚠ Critical Warnings
  • No Immersion: Never submerge the shakers or the wooden base. IPX2 means drip resistance only. Water entry causes permanent electronic failure and voids the warranty.
  • Heat Sensitivity: Do not place the dock or spheres near open flames or hot stovetops. The internal Li-Po batteries are sensitive to extreme temperatures.
  • Medical Devices: Maintain a minimum distance of 20 cm (8 inches) from cardiac pacemakers or similar implants due to induction and magnetic components.
  • Acoustic Safety: Maximum output reaches 85 dB. Prolonged exposure at maximum volume is not recommended.
  • Surface Hygiene: The wooden base is made of natural Beechwood. Never use bleach or abrasive chemicals — use a dry cloth only.

Child Safety

Age 3+ Only

Contains small internal parts and magnets — choking hazard.

Rolling Safety

Flat Surfaces Only

Prevent falls — "extreme rolling" from >1m is not covered under warranty.

Spice Longevity Advice

To prevent clumping, store the Cruet in a dry environment. The precision dispensing mechanism can be hindered by humidity. Always use high-quality, dry salt and peppercorns. Do not use wet salts such as Sel de Guérande without prior drying. Do not use non-approved spice capsules, as this will void the warranty.

Initial Installation

01
Energize

Connect the Maple dock to a 5V/2A USB-C source. Place the Black (Pepper) and White (Salt) spheres on their respective induction pads. The base pulses softly blue during the 90-minute charge cycle. Do not use the spheres until fully charged for first use.

02
Pair & Sync

Download the Electrolux Cruet App (iOS 15+ / Android 10+). Enable Bluetooth on your device. Press and hold the Electrolux logo on the base for 3 seconds to enter pairing mode. Select "Cruet-2000" from available devices. The base emits a single white pulse to confirm pairing.

03
Calibrate Dispensing

Using the Electrolux App, navigate to Settings → Spice Flow and set the grain size to Fine, Medium, or Coarse. This calibrates the dispensing gate aperture for consistent, controlled seasoning every time.

04
Fill with Spices

Invert each sphere. Rotate the bottom silicone ring 45° counter-clockwise to unlock the refill cap. Pour in your preferred salt or pepper. Ensure all spices are completely dry before filling to avoid clogging.

Intended Operations

The Cruet-2000 is designed for fluid motion and sensory delight at the dining table. Its three core interactions are seasoning, sharing, and listening.

The Haptic Pour

Simply tilt the sphere over your plate. The internal gravity sensor activates the precision dispensing gate. "Smart-Pour" technology ensures a consistent, controlled flow, preventing over-seasoning even if the sphere is held upside down for an extended period.

The Social Roll

The spherical design encourages sharing across the table. Gently roll the shaker toward your guest. The weighted internal "Zen-Core" mechanism ensures the sphere naturally comes to rest with the dispensing aperture facing upwards, always ready for the next user.

The Touch Band

A capacitive touch band circles the equator of each sphere. A single tap pauses or resumes audio. A slide clockwise increases volume; counter-clockwise decreases it. Ensure hands are dry for accurate touch sensitivity. Clean regularly with a dry microfiber cloth to remove salt or grease residue.

Music Programming & App

Sound is the third ingredient of every meal. The Cruet-2000 Electrolux App unlocks three distinct audio modes and an intelligent dining playlist engine.

Audio Modes

App Features

Maintenance & Care

Frequency Action Method
Daily Interface Wipe Clean the touch band with a dry microfiber cloth to remove salt and grease residue.
Weekly Aperture Check Inspect the dispensing aperture. Use the provided brush to clear any spice crust from the gate rim.
Monthly Core Cleaning Empty shakers and use the provided air-blower to clear fine dust from the electronic dispensing gate.
Quarterly Wood Care Apply a light coat of food-grade mineral oil to the Maple/Beechwood base. Buff with a dry cloth.
Bi-Annual Speaker Grill Gently remove dust from the 360° mesh using a soft toothbrush. Do not apply water to the grille.
Annual Deep Clean Invert, rotate the silicone ring 45°, and clear all spice residue from the chamber walls.
Off-Season Storage If unused for more than a week, store spheres on the charging dock to maintain battery health.

Refill Protocol

  1. Invert the sphere over a clean surface.
  2. Rotate the bottom silicone ring 45° counter-clockwise until you feel a click.
  3. Pour in your preferred spice. Ensure salts are completely bone-dry to prevent clumping in the mechanism.
  4. Re-lock by rotating the ring 45° clockwise until it clicks firmly into place.
  5. Place the sphere right-side up and perform a test tilt over a plate to confirm flow.

Troubleshooting

Before contacting service, consult the following. Most issues can be resolved without a technician.

No sound from the spheres +

Check that Bluetooth is enabled on your smartphone and that the Cruet-2000 is selected as the audio output device. Ensure the spheres are charged — a fully depleted battery will cause audio to cut out. Try toggling Bluetooth off and on. If issues persist, navigate to App → Settings → Device → Rediscover Devices.

Audio is distorted or muffled +

Spice dust on the 360° speaker grille is the most common cause of distortion. Use the provided soft brush to gently clean the mesh. Avoid applying water or compressed air directly. If distortion persists at low volume, the speaker driver may require professional inspection.

Dispenser is stuck or not dispensing +

The most common cause is oversized grain size or humidity-induced clumping. Invert the sphere, open the refill cap, and use the provided brush to clear the gate. Manually rotate the dispenser ring gently to clear the jam. Re-fill only with dry spices. If the mechanism is physically damaged, contact service.

Sphere won't roll in a straight line +

An internal Zen-Core weight misalignment can occur after a significant impact. Place the sphere on the charging dock for 10 seconds — this triggers a motor reset that recalibrates the internal balance mechanism. If the problem persists, check for surface irregularities at your table. A deep impact (>1m fall) may require professional service.

Seasoning leaks when rolling +

The anti-spill aperture should close automatically when the shaker is laid flat or rolling. If spillage occurs, the refill cap may not be fully locked — open and re-lock with a firm click. The aperture mechanism may also be jammed by a foreign particle. Clean the aperture per the weekly procedure. Do not continue rolling the shaker until the issue is resolved.

Bluetooth lag or frequent disconnections +

Interference from 2.4GHz devices (microwave ovens, Wi-Fi routers) is the most common cause. Move the charging dock away from such appliances. Ensure your phone's Bluetooth firmware is up to date. The Cruet-2000 uses Bluetooth 5.3 LE — older devices may experience more latency. Reduce the number of connected Bluetooth devices on your phone.

Charging base LED is red and not charging +

A red LED indicates a charging fault. Check that the USB-C cable is fully seated. Try a different cable and power adapter (5V/2A minimum). Ensure the induction contacts on the sphere base and dock cradle are clean and dry — wipe with a dry cotton swab. Dry the bottom of the spheres before placing them on the dock. If the red LED persists, the base may require service.

Touch band controls not responding +

Clean the touch band with a slightly damp cloth to remove salt or grease residue that impairs capacitive sensitivity. Dry thoroughly. Ensure hands are dry when using touch controls. If completely unresponsive, perform a firmware reset via App → Settings → Device → Restart Shaker.

Cruet app not detecting shakers after a phone update +

After an OS update, Bluetooth permissions may be reset. Go to your phone's Settings → App Permissions → Cruet → Bluetooth, and re-enable. Open the app and navigate to Settings → Device → Rediscover Devices. If still not found, uninstall and reinstall the app — your account data and playlists are stored in the cloud and will be fully restored upon login.

Battery life is shorter than expected +

Battery life is affected by volume level, ambient temperature, and Bluetooth stability. At volumes above 80%, expect approximately 3–4 hours instead of 6. Ensure firmware is up to date, as battery optimization improvements are delivered via updates. If battery life has significantly degraded after 2+ years of normal use, the battery may require professional replacement. Contact an authorized Electrolux service center.

Authorized Service Centers

For all repairs, always use a factory-authorized Electrolux service center. Repairs performed by unauthorized parties void the warranty. Do not attempt to open or repair electronic components yourself.

Before Sending for Repair

Back up your settings via App → Settings → Backup → Export to Cloud before shipping your device. Technicians may perform a factory reset. Keep your proof of purchase — it is required for all warranty claims. Your serial number is on the underside of the base station and in App → Settings → Device Info.
